Cat Friends

Furry doesn't live alone at home or on the internet.
Here is another great cat site to see and the silly sleeping Olympics is very very funny

This is a picture of fuzzy as a younger and smaller cat. He would sit in that bucket until one of his legs went to sleep... these days Mr. Fuzzy has grown so big he doesn't fit in the bucket very well.

Vacuuming the cat

There are places that Mr. Fuzzy can't quite reach, if you scratch him there he will compulsively lick himself.  Oddly enough he really likes the vacuum, He is our only cat that runs to the vacuum. Strange but cute Mr. Fuzzy!

Holes in the cat!

Mr Fuzzy got a bit of a new hair-do!
The vet had to shave a couple spots to ultrasound the beast.
Fur Fur has a little bald spot on either side and one under his chin too.
He is a little bit self conscious about his baldness but we reassure him his fur will grow back soon.
He still feels comfortable enough to get a little sun out on the deck this afternoon, they haven't kept him from eating lunch either.

Mr Furry goes to the Vet Again!

Poor Mr Fuzzy, he has urinary tract issues. He had been on a special low ash diet for some time now but sometimes he eats the other cat's food.

Just recently we had kittens visiting, Max, Marie and Vanna. Fuzzy really loves to eat their kitten food every chance he gets. We think he gains weight every time we have kittens.

All that yummy food gives him troubles so he got to spend another night at the vet's office. Mr Furry now has more special food, and has to have some injections and special medication as well. What a special cat! Big Kitty big vet bills! Yikes!

Furry is home now and seems to be feeling a little bit better, he's a lot of cat to be sick all at once.

Big Fat Kitty

Fur Fur is a big fat fuzzy kitty, we took this picture of him with an iPhone for scale.
He will lay around on his back just for fun.
As big as he is you might think he would be slow but Fuzzy can really move quite fast, especially if he hears the food bag opening.
After his last visit to the vet they thought he needed more fiber in his diet so now we feed him canned pumpkin pie filling, he just loves it and he will eat it right it off the spoon!

Fur Fur already has a special low-ash diet so he expects special treatment.

Mr Furry goes to the Vet!

Poor Mr. Fur Fur was feeling low, not his usual self for sure.
He wasn't eating and in the box, well, he was just not his regular self...

so off he went to visit the Vet's office.
Mr Furry had to spend the night, twice!
They did some blood work and he had an elevated white count, very bad!
He got fluids, a shot of antibiotic and after a couple days he was feeling good enough to go home.
The Vet weighed him and he officially weighs 24 pounds!

Mr. Furry is very good about being in his box although he hardly fits anymore.
poor Mr. Fur Fur.... it's not easy being a big furry cat.

in a hat, in a bucket...

This picture is from 2006.
Fur Fur loves to get dressed up for the holidays but has since grown out of this bucket.

Introducing Mr. Furry

We have a cat. He's rather plus sized. This blog is about him.

So the kid's have about 1000 pictures of our animals, mostly Mr. Furrry. or Fur Fur or Fuzzy or Fat Cat depending on your mood. He answers to all of them.

His Vet name is Whiner, but he grew out of that after he finally got enough to eat. He showed up in our work shed, sleeping in a box of pointy scrap metal and fence toppers. He would hang around the back deck and cry and cry. He was maybe a year old, maybe 6-7 pounds, very skinny and hungry. He couldn't get enough food.

The Universe thinks we need to have 6 cats. Sometimes we have 7 but an old one will die, sometimes we have 5 and one will show up. Mr Furry showed up when we were pretty low on cats, but plenty to make the place look like a good place to move to. Multiple cat dishes in and out, various cat shapes and colors lurking about. Mostly friendly or at least tolerant of newcomers.

One thing Mr Fur Fur didn't know about was there was a small trade he would have to make to be fully adopted....
